Artist Flow was entrusted with the complete musical direction and technical sound delivery for the evening.

Curating music for an exhibition dedicated to one of the greatest musicians and performers of all time carries a unique responsibility. The brief was proposed our side in the initial conversations was to take the evening on a journey through the timeline of influences in music, tell the story with a scenic route — as a foremost to honour legacy, but to create an atmosphere that respected Freddie Mercury’s artistic depth, theatricality, and cultural impact without reducing it to spectacle or nostalgia.

The music program was carefully curated to support the exhibition space and the emotional weight of the work on display. Selections were chosen to complement the journey through Freddie’s life and creative world — allowing the objects, artefacts, and stories to remain central, while sound subtly shaped the mood and pacing of the evening.

Alongside music curation and live DJ performance, I was responsible for the sound system design, equipment selection, and on-site technical setup, ensuring clarity, balance, and restraint within a high-profile gallery environment. Every technical decision was made to serve the space and the moment, not overpower it.

This project required sensitivity, precision, and deep respect for the artist’s legacy — balancing presence with restraint, and atmosphere with silence. This was a very special event for me, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust placed in me.
